Default 1996 Civic won't start when engine hot

Hey, new here. I have 1996 honda civic ex, owned for 2 years. Time to replace spark plugs and wires so I replaced with nGK plugs, Accel wires, and decided to replace distributor, rotor, fuel rail, all vacumn hoses etc. Now my car suddenly won't start when the engine gets warm/hot. Starts fine in morning, or after it sits for a couple of hours, but no short stop and go trips. Took to shop they had it all week and replaced the ECM Relay. Got it back last night it was fine, used car today back to no start when making short trips. They checked all my new stuff and the timing and said everything ok, so now what? Any ideas?

Test for spark, when it won't start. Could be a dud ICM in your "new" distributor.

Testing when it will start will never find any problems.

I already did spark plug spark test, also used spark plug tester that plugs into plug wire and got spark from there when it wouldn't start. I also took the plugs out and put the plug in the plug wire and grounded it out on valve cover bolt and still good spark. I have not replaced the ICM but when i took it to the shop i assume they checked that from me telling them about the magnetic sensor thing above the ICM that had a little crack on it. He said it checked out fine? lol BTW i just put in new NGK plugs today and it seems to be starting fine now is it possible that i coulda just got a bad batch of plugs 3 weeks ago. Im gunna go race around town for about 15 minutes and turn it off and see if it starts up perfect or continues to do the same.

@9t6ex hey man that would be your best bet, I just replaced the icm yesterday and a brand new ignition switch with the lock cylinder and still wouldn't start so I had it towed back to the shop. Best of luck to your Honda

Hey bll thank you....Man i love my car but now Im having second thoughts......its supposed to be an Honda !!!!! I sold my 91 Prelude 2.0Si with 195K that never gave me any problems on it for this car.... since Feb. of this yr I put over $400 in to it. I hope after this its trouble free....good luck with your Honda .....I wonder if it could be a crank position sensor causing a weak spark..... let me know what you find out....well good luck!!!!!!!!
