the numbers will vary a bit motor to motor, but the general rule of thumb is that they should be within 10% of each other across the board.

120-120-117-119 is fine

120-90-120-119 obviously something is wrong

I think I may have a hole in the muffler right under the front seats. Can that cause the CEL and a crappy idle?

I went to Advanced and had them check the CEL codes and got all kinds of misfire codes. I told the guy what I've done so far and he recommended a crankshaft position sensor. Is this good advise and if so what kind of sensor do I have on my D16y8? 18mm diameter or 20??

Knowing which codes you're throwing would give us the best chance of helping you out.

So far thank you everyone for postin your thoughts. Yea I know I shouldve wrote down the codes before but I got em now. I went to a mechanic today who hooked up a Snap-on computer thing the my car and couldnt get any CEL codes to pop up after he cleared them. But before hand, like I said before, he did read all sorts of misfires, before clearing them. The CEL stayed off for a while but then came back on so I took it to autozone to have the codes read. Talk about running ****ty...almost like it was out of tune. Then upon coming home I couldnt get it to stay running w/o throttling it about 2500. The codes I got: P1399, P0300, P0304, P0303, P0302. A couple people said that I got bad gas and the injectors are clogged. Another guy said the cat converter is bad. I know nothing. PLease help.

Hey Joe...I've been having the same issues. I thought maybe it was my injectors that were dirty and bad gas as well but it's not. My FI have been cleaned and I've used Supreme Unleaded gas. But I still have the same issue you do. I would probably try to rule it out as your cat converter being clogged up.

Sounds like a bad coil or ICM inside the distributor, assuming the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor are fine. Could also be a clogged fuel filter or bad O2 sensor. For the latter, try unplugging it to see whether the problem goes away.

I still haven't figured my prob out. I am going to get a fuel pressure test done tomarrow. I did put some seafoam into the engine and gas tank. Seems to have helped it a little bit.
