2002 Civic Power window diagnostic help
I have a 2002 Civic LX. The front passenger side power window blows the fuse whenever the master switch for that window is pushed. I’m unsure if pushing the passenger side switch blows the fuse. All of the other 3 power windows function normally.
Here is what I did to partially troubleshoot. I took the front passenger side door panel off, disconnected the front passenger side window switch and unplugged the power window motor. I then hooked a 12VDC power supply to the window motor and could make the window go up and down. Lastly, while leaving the passenger side power window motor and switch unplugged, I replaced the blown fuse and then pressed the master switch button on the driver’s door. When I did that, the fuse blew immediately. I examined the wiring in the door as well as I could and didn’t see any melted wires or wires with worn off insulation.
All of the above said, what do the forum members think is causing the fuse to blow?
