Default 2003 Civic LX 1.7L - transmission troubles

Hello! I'm new to the forums and I'm having trouble with my civic.

The problem I'm having seemed to start happening over a week and what happens is I can no longer go over 60mph. When I accelerate hard it feels like I don't have any power. I mean, I have RPM's lots of RPM's like I'm stuck in 1st gear.

If I accelerate slowly I can make it up to around 60mph, and everything shift fine. But as soon as I hit a slight incline or try to accelerate past 60 my car will downshift into what feels like the lowest gear. When it happens at 60 the RPM's go up to 5-6k

I had the fluid changed 20,000 miles ago and it's filled to the proper level and still the fluid still looks brand new.

I'm not sure what to check next.

Thanks!

Do you get any CEL's when this happens?

Have you tested the TPS and the shift solenoids?

I do not get any CEL's when this happens.

I'll read up on testing the TPS and shift solenoid.

I tested the 4 linear and shift solenoids on transmission and they all actuated. However I didn't have a way to pressure test them to see if they sealed off when actuated.

I also noticed that my valve cover gasket was leaking oil on the passenger side, the wires and everything was covered in oil. I went and replaced that and cleaned up the oil best I could with some engine degreaser.

I don't know which sensor is the TPS, my service manual is MIA so I've been on the lookout for that.

I'm not getting any CEL's, (well I got one when I forgot to securely plug in a solenoid plug.).

I tested the TPS today, I got 5v on the 5v wire, 12v on the ground wire and .45volts on the sensor wire when the throttle is closed and 4.66v on the sensor wire when it's all the way open. So it appears to be working correctly.

Over the past 6 months, I've lost power in any gear, I can't get over 3,000 rpm in any gear.

A sudden decrease in performance, such as "can't go over 3000 rpm in any gear" is often because the timing belt has skipped. This may or may not throw a CEL.
