Default 2010 Civic Parasitic draw, possible Alternator

The battery was drained dead overnight. No red light on in the dash indicating an alternator/battery failure. The battery was recharged and is holding at 12.43. I took the alternator out and had it check at an automotive place and it tested good. Put everything back together and did a Parasitic Draw Test and it came up at 3.75 amps. When I connected the meter to the battery making a full connection I could hear a click sound in the alternator. I disconnected the wires from the alternator and the parasitic draw went down to 6 milliamps. Even though the alternator tested good is there a problem with the alternator and needs to be replaced? Why does the alternator click when connected to power? Perhaps check something else?
Thanks
