Default 86 civic D15 head!!#!!

OK y'all I'm new to this site but on lots of other forums and know how works. Use search first then post lol.. well I just bought a 86 civic with from what I was told timing belt failure. I put a new timing belt on and it only ran on 2 cylinders, cylinder # 1 and 2 had no compression. Well I only checked number 1, I also pulled 1 and 2 cylinder spark plug wires and no change in idle at all. On cylinder 1 i would get 25 psi at 5 thousand rpm lol. I broke into the engine and noticed that the cam was very hard to turn, so pulled the cam out and 2 cam bearing caps were badly scored, the bearing on the cam is pretty much gone, I took the head off and noticed that cylinder 1 and 2 pistons got hit by the valves. There not cracked but have 2 dents where the valves hit, the valves are bent as well. OK so I noticed that when I took the cam out there was no bearings are the cam journals acting as bearings?. If that's the case, I think I need to replace the whole head. I know I need a new cam atleast. Ill post pics when I upload them to my photobucket can any one shed some light on this? Thanks. in the last pic you can see the light coming thru the valves on cylinder 1

The cam bearings are indeed just the head metal, no separate bearings. Replace the whole head. Make sure that oil is getting to the head. With a used head, check for sludge in the oil passages of the head and cam.

so opon receiving a new/used head pull it apart and make sure the oil passages are clear? now the fun part, finding one. question is there a head that i can swap onto this d15 engine with out having to do mods, such as fuel injection/ecu and ect? about the piston, the piston that have the marks, is this gonna effect performance or damage anything being like that? i checked for cracks and such, but nothing.

I think you have to replace the whole engine and transmission to convert to the later non-CVCC D15B series. I have two of the 1500 CVCC engines (one seized, one burns a lot of oil) but the heads are probably still good. One even has a whole car attached to it...

i found the same motor with 110k on it at a junk yard 100 miles from me for $335.00, ima pick that up and hope there open tomorrow. ima do the head switch and hope it runs good if not i have a spare block with a 30 day warentee on it. i mean the car ran good with no smoke or knocking or pings, it just that it ran on 2 cylinders cus of no compresstion due to bent valves. so the bottom end should be fine. one reason why i dont wanna swap the full motor, is because there is like a thousand vacuumm lines that i dont wanna mess with lol. i was able to push the intake off to the side with having to removing it from the engine bay. it was quite easy to pull the head off. ill swap th motor if its a worst case situaution. the body is in real good shape and interior is great as well, i just have to find a speedo consol dash pad

That is a nice looking car other than the engine problem. As for the pistons, I would just dremel them a little to get the sharp edges off.

OK I got a head off a motor that blew a head gasket. Cam spins freely and all cam journals look fabulouse. Since it was on a bad head gasket motor I'm going to have it shaved but optonline dismantle, I come across the valves and got the intake and exhaust valves out. There are very small like valves that lead into the spark plug chamber but can't figure out how to remove them. Any input on this?
