I am having issues with my fuel pump relay kicking on. It's taking about 5 minutes to trigger. While waiting for it I was playing with the automatic shift lock solenoid and something shorted. My check engine light went out, clock, intermittent wipers, hazards, and all gauges. Still working is stereo, headlights, taillights and cruise..... I believe I checked all fuses under hood and dash... Any suggestions on either issues??

Those circuits come from fuse #15 (10 amp) under the dash -- check it again. If the fuse is good check that it has power on both ends with the key on.

For the fuel pump not always coming on, resolder or replace the main relay. That relay is located on the side of the car under the dash, above the hood release handle.

As for the fuel pump relay:
I checked the relay by the manual, its working fine, I even stuck it in my Acura to verify that its good.
Cleaned ECU ground at thermostat and checked/got 5v at map sensor.
I just read something about the distributor could be causing this???

update, it was fuse15 for the back up lights...thanks..it looked fine but ohmed out open.
