Default 93 civic a/c compressor

replaced the bearing in my compressor, now seems to be running all the time. it tries to cycle but it keeps turning making a loud screeching noise. I thought maybe the clearance between pulley and clutch was off but its right at the max .025 in.

Take the belt off and turn by hand. The clutch plate should not touch the pulley with the coil off, but you don't need (or want) a large gap. Make sure you have the snap ring on in the groove so the bearing can't slide off the nose of the compressor, which would close the gap.
