Default 93 Civic starting problems. Mystery to me. Help please.

I have a 1993 Honda Civic DX. I parked it after driving all day on saturday night and then Sunday it would start. It would crank fine but would never start. I tried a couple more times and then it started. i turned the car off and it wouldnt start again. Monday I had a friend come over and we looked more into it. My main relay was fine as I replaced it and when I pulled the spark plug wires from plugs 2 and 3 it started right up and idled fine with no sign of any problems. Once I put the plugs back in it wouldnt start again. I had the car towed to a shop and they said that my ECU is fried but I dont want to shell out 625 bucks if thats not the problem. They also said they arnt pulling any codes at all. Please help me as I need my car to get back and forth to school. Also to add that it has been rainging on and off all day for the last week.

You should be able to pick up a used ECU on ebay for ~$100, not 625! Did they open up the ECU to determine it was toast?

I had a similar problem and it was the ECU. Really strange that you say it would idle fine on 2 cylinders though. Mine ran like crap if I pulled one wire. I can't imagine it running at all on 2.
And my ECU was $125 used.

I'm going to the junk yard today and getting an ecu for like 20 bucks. Let's hope this fixes it. If not I don't know where to start

And they never opened it up as far as I know. they just ran the diagnostic and said all test led back to the computer. Also I dont know if I mentioned above the CEL stays on but no codes are pulled.

Default Fixed

I was able to fix it. I had a friend help me push it the 4 blocks from the shop and then went to the junk yard. Found an ECU in a 92 civic dx that was the same color as mine and paid 40 for it. Put it in when I got home and after a couple cranks it fired right up. Im sure it took a couple tries because I pressed the fuel pump to the floor a couple times when seeing if it was the fuel pump so my engine was probably flooded. Regardless Its all fix. Thanks guys for all your help.
