96' Dx D16Y7 Problems "failure to launch"
So i messed up the firing order being an idiot, engine was misfiring badly and it took me a few days to finally make the connection that i had put the wires back on wrong. first i thought the valves may have been the problem. but i realized my error later and went to changing the plugs, the old ones were fried black. after i changed them it still won't crank over and so could i have fried the dizzy or starter when i messed up my firing sequence???

it ran when it was wrong but very rough. when i corrected it, it wouldn't run. i've printed out at least 10 different diagrams of the firing sequence for the D16 and they all match up to what i have it as now

I doubt you did any damage.
Even this is for a D16z6, this should be the same as your y7. Just make sure you have this correct.
If they are in fact correct, I would suggest to pull one spark plug wire , then attempt to start the car. If nothing changes, re-plug that plug wire and then do the same with the second. If the car starts (it will run rough) with one of them pulled out, there is your issue. That's how I have diagnosed issues in the past with my car.

i've more than triple checked the firing order now after i messed it up. i tryed pulling a wire and nothing happend. so i pulled the new plugs i put in to let any gas evaporate out incase it was flooded. also
is to try jumping it to see if the battery is the problem b/c the dizzy seems fine a good idea? i dont know why it wouldnt be..

If the engine turns at the normal speed when it is trying to start, battery is OK.
There are two models of the distributor and the position of wire #1 is different. Either way it is toward the back of the car and the order is ALWAYS 1-3-4-2 going clockwise. Shift all 4 wires one position clockwise or counterclockwise and try again. Also if you have removed the distributor from the car, it is sometimes possible to put it back on 180 degrees out of time.
Does the ignition make sparks? Pull one of the wires out at the plug end and plug it into a spare plug. Hold the rubber part of the wire and press the shell of the plug against the engine. Have someone crank and see if the plug sparks.

No spark so im thinking its the dizzy. there is no way its in there 180 deg. the wrong way either because i haven't taken it out. also the check engine light isn't coming on, im guessing the ECU isn't registering the ignition problems so could the ECU be shot???

Check that the dizzy is getting power on the black and yellow wire. The CEL should come on then go out when you turn the key on but don't crank. If it does that, put the test jumper in and see if there are any codes.
