Question AC issues.

2000 Honda Civic EX with 193000 miles. About 2 years ago I completely replaced the AC system. Recently the compressor locked up. I replaced it, vacuumed it out and charged it back up. However it is not blowing cold air, only moderately cool air. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what the problem might be? Thanks in advance...

What are your operating pressures?

A blown compressor tends to clog up the condenser. Also if you replaced the TXV make sure the sensor line is properly installed and insulated.

Somewhere you have a filter/drier & an expansion valve. If you blew or seized a compressor I'm sure you have one or all of those plugged. Never change out a compressor with out changing the filter/drier. If you had a gauge hooked up you would of had a higher then normal high side reading I'm sure. But without both a high & low side reading who knows.

Default reading

The low side was at 5psi and the high side was at 50psi.

Unless it is very cold out (A/C testing really needs to be done in warm weather), it is severely undercharged.

You have a leak somewhere. Normal pressure reading should be 30 low 150 high. They will vary from that depending on outside temps.
