Ahhh, how much is this to fix, is it dangerous?
Hi,
I was on the highway just an hour ago, suddenly bang. Then a noise is developed, it gets when I step on the gas/rev up. Upon inspection when I got home, this is what I found.
I don't know anything about car but some how I'm relieved that is the problem. Unless you tell me otherwise.
As such I have some questions.
Is this dangerous to drive?
How much is this to fix?
I'm from toronto, Canada, btw. And the car is a honda civic 2003.
Thanks

1. Not too dangerous to drive-- there is a slight chance of exhaust gas getting into the car-- but you will get tickets or at least unwanted attention from the police.
2.
Honda Automotive Parts
The DIY approach is to buy the muffler assembly (part #3), also available aftermarket for probably less than $100, and bolt it on at the flange. A muffler shop could maybe weld it back together, but usually when the pipe breaks that means the whole section is rather thin and it's just going to break somewhere else shortly.
