low idle almost stalls! 98 ex
i have a 98 ex and once the engine has warmed up and i stop at a light or something the idle drops all the way down and the engine sahkes like its about to die but doesnt. i have tried some things to fix it. i cleaned the iacv valve, new plugs changed the pcv valve and a new fuel filter. when i changed the fuel filter it seemed to fix the problem but maybe the car just wasnt warm enough yet to do it when i tested but my mileage is down and im out of ideas i might try the filter again because before the prob started i ran a can of bg44 which makes me think that stuff from the tank is getting caught in it which is in turn not suppling enough fuel for idle.
Sorry for the huge intro lewt my know any ideas u guys have i appreciate any help!

Is the CEL ON?
When were the spark plug wires last replaced?
Have you inspected the contact points of the distributor cap and rotor for wear and corrosion?
Have you tried adjusting the idle speed screw on the throttle body?
Do you have an AT or MT?

I had the exact same issue you did and went through the same steps: Cleaned the iacv valve, put in new plugs, changed the pcv valve, and changed out the fuel filter. The last was what fixed it for me, the fuel filter. Ever since I haven't had a single issue.
You said when you changed your filter, it fixed the issue but your mileage went down. How much did it go down? Are you still having engine-bogging problems? Mine would bog no matter if it was warm or cold. Throw it in neutral, rev it up to 3k RPMs and let off the accelerator. If it bogs and shutters for a few seconds, then raises RPMs to a non-bogging level (albeit lower than normal), I would suggest changing the fuel filter again.. if you're willing.
It definitely sounds like the engine is being starved from fuel.
