hi im new to this civic forum... but me and my buddies recently swapped my stock motor to a b16a and it runs find... but when i turn on the switch on 1 2 3 or 4 there is no air coming out i can feel the hot air leaking through the vents but i don't know what could be wrong.. before we threw the swap it worked find.... Also, i drove it like that leaving it on 3 for air going 70 or 80 mph and than suddenly the air worked.. it blew out air... and than i stopped my car and than i tried again it didn't work... i don't know what the problem is i checked my fuses.. it's good.. Need help please

 

It sounds like your blower motor is not functioning. When you're going that fast with the recirculation button not pressed, air is forced through the system just by sheer speed and you'll get just a little air.

 

What model year? In general the blower motor is supplied with power from the underhood fuse box, which has a relay to cut the power when the key is off. The ground for the motor passes through the controls, either a switch and resistor in earlier models or a power transistor later.

Measure voltage at the motor with everything plugged in, key on, and switch on high. If there is battery voltage across the motor terminals but it doesn't run, motor is bad. If both terminals are zero volts to ground, there is no power from under the hood. If both terminals are 12 volts to ground, there's a problem with the control circuit, usually the resistor or power transistor.

 

i have a 91 honda civic hatchback dx with a b16a swap.. i checked my ground and everything... do you guys think it could be the blower motor thats being bad?

 

You need to test the voltages at the motor like I described. The motor is right under the dash on the far right side of the car, there is no need to disassemble anything to reach the plug.

 

how will i test the voltages? ... but how do i test it and what tools do i need?? sorry im new to cars.. i really love imports...do you have pictures?
