Default Body Work/Repair on 2007 Coupe LX

I don't know if this is the correct forum, but I just wanted some input about repairing my car. If anyone in the forum is from the Kansas City area some good bodyshop referrals would be nice as well. Estimates for repairing the damage would be appreciated as well.

I recently got into an accident and am looking forward to fixing the car whether the insurance company decides to total it or not. I love this car very much as it is my first car and I got a great deal when I bought it. The tow truck man stated it would be around 5000 for repairs, but I honestly think it wouldn't be that much. For the door I think it would be best to get a shell because there is no inside damage on the opposite side of the door and the door window is not broken. The part of the door by the wheel is the worst part as it exposes some parts, but could dent removal work on the door or no? I obviously need a new front bumper, but I don't know about the wheel bearing. Hopefully the axle is not broken, but I believe that the bent metal is just preventing the tire from rotating. I'm no experienced mechanic or anything, but I have done some research.

I forgot to add that the car starts and runs (battery did die because passenger door wouldn't close). Engine/motor are in pristine condition.

I have attached pictures to show the extent of the damage.

bumper, fender, door, tire, rim, suspension, paint, headl ight, suspension alignment and possible body work if the door hinges were bent out of shape $5,000 sounds about rite if you have a shop do the work. otherwise if you source the parts yourself whether from car yards or after market parts and do the work yourself you could save around $2,000-$3,000 im guessing. i can start you on your journey here Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market thers a company called CERTIFIT thats sells cheap after market body panels.

Yeah, you might be able to drop the price a little if you buy used Honda parts and do some of the work yourself...... but that suspension makes me nerves, i would have to remove that wheel and take a look because a lot of little things could be bent or broken.

Thanks for the reply,

I definitely couldn't do the body work myself, I could find reasonably priced repair though. So far I have a bumper: 2006 2008 Honda Civic 2dr 2 0L Coupe Front Bumper Cover Replacement Primed 2007 | eBay
a fender: Honda Civic 06 11 Right RH Fender Coupe 2dr Hybrid New | eBay

The door hinges are fine, the door just wouldn't close because of the bent metal. I'm dreading a new door, I really think it needs a shell or at least dent removal. I'll see about the suspension soon, hopefully there's minimal damage... Do you think the frame is bent?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm still waiting on the adjuster...

You should call local junkyards and see if anyone has a parts car. It'd be a lot easier to just swap out the whole door, which would come with the mirror, air bag, etc.

Did any of the other air bags come out besides the door one? Does your locality require you to replace the air bags to keep the car legal for the road?

I'm assuming that the front wheels don't both point straight ahead should you straighten out the steering, so there is suspension damage too.

Yea, that's what my dad is thinking at the point... He's hoping for it to get totaled.

Only the side airbags came out, but I'm going to assume that Kansas City doesn't require airbags because I didn't find anything about it. I did find a panel: but I'll go with your suggestion Honda Automotive Parts

In regards to the wheel, the drivers side of the car is damage free. The drivers side wheel was straight, but I couldn't turn the passenger side wheel due to the bent metal/steel.

if they total it buy it back from the insurance company and fix it up yourself then make profit.
