Default Brakes start vibrating after using brakes for a bit

Hi there.

I have a '92 Civic DX, 4-door, which for the last year has had this weird problem where the brakes start vibrating quite a bit after continuously pressing my brakes for about 10-15 seconds or so, and then continues vibrating afterward whenever braking again. I still get braking power when it vibrates--if anything, they actually feel more effective during the vibration. Last I checked my front brake pads a few months ago, there was still quite a bit of pad left, so for some reason it doesn't seem like my brakes are screwing up the rotors. It seems to be a heat-related thing though, but it's just a guess from the way the vibration kicks in after using my brakes for a while.

Also, I'm pretty sure I don't have ABS--at least I don't have the "ABS" light on the dashboard which would indicate that I have ABS. Other than this, I can't say for sure that I have or don't have ABS.

Any thoughts? Thanks for the help!

Sounds like the brake rotors are warped and need to be replaced.

That's the first thing I'd say, except shouldn't they vibrate at all times and not just when I'm pressing/using my brakes for a while? And weirdly my brake pads, last I checked, are still pretty good. How would I check the rotor condition?

Using the brakes heats them up and probably accentuates the rotor deformities. You might try having them turned, by replacing them is the best bet. You can buy new rotors for $25-$30 each.
