"Broken Spedo Gear" what parts do I need?
Hello! First time poster here. I had a friend (we're out of touch currently) put a remanufactured transmission into my 89 civic DX and he told me that he "broke the speedometer gear" putting the new one in. I told him that I'd take care of it. The spedo cable is now hanging free. There's a cap on the transmission where it would plug in. I have no idea what parts I need to fix it. I'm having trouble finding any info on this kind of repair. Can you point me in the right direction? Thank you!

This is for a manual transmission but I think automatic is the same as far as the speedometer goes:

Part #7 is the tube that the end of the cable fits into. If you remove bolt 16 and clamp 8 you can pull it straight up out of the transmission and should find gearshaft 10 attached to the bottom end and able to spin freely.
The gear 10 engages a plastic ring gear on the differential. Trouble with that gear is rare but it could break and then of course the speedometer cable won't turn.
