Default clutch- replace seals only?

(Newb here, please be kind )

93si, 115k, original clutch.

Been pouring over the forums, guessing there's a leak somewhere (clutch is NOT slipping, noisy, etc.)

Clutch pedal losing almost all pressure when car is off, regains most of it after driving for 10 mins or so. No fluid on or under the carpet, but found some oily gunk on the "arm" of the pedal.

My questions: can I just replace the seals, or is a whole new master/slave cylinder required? Is it going to destroy anything if keep I driving for the mean time while keeping the fluid level topped off?

I seriously have no cash, so any way to save $ is really needed right now!

Thx in advance!

A new master and slave shouldnt cost more than $40. I replaced the master on my integra as I thought it was leaking, picked up a oem replacement off ebay for $25. Havent had a problem

Slave cylinders can be had at local auto parts store for like $11. If you run out of fluid, you cannot drive the vehicle unless you know how to drive without a clutch. Getting into first wont be fun if you can do it

Thanks! Been pricing parts, looks way cheaper than I expected. Got quoted $400 by a mechanic for master/slave replacement. Not sure if I'm going to attempt it, the only wrenching I've done personally is swap the radiator (which was easy.)

I do know how to downshift w/out the clutch, probably should practice getting into gear should the need arise.

You don't have to replace the slave cylinder unless it is leaking. Failing to build enough pressure to operate the clutch is a problem with the master cylinder. They can go bad that way without leaking to the outside.

Thanks mk378. Been reading the forums, seeing if I can determine whether it's master or slave. Lots of references to the master leaking onto the back wall, but mine is still only leaking down the pedal. Funny- in this 100 degree weather it's holding pressure better (I'm guessing the fluid is expanding?)
