RE: common speedo problem
Is the CEL ON?
First check whether either fuse 24 (15A) (w/ SRS) or 12 (15A) (w/o SRS) is blown. Assuming the VSS is fine (usually the VSS is bad in this situation), next check whether there is an open in the YEL/BLU wire powering the speedo. If all of the latter are fine, then you likely need to replace these gauges.

RE: common speedo problem
Sounds like the problem is the speedo unit in the cluster. You can probably find a used DX cluster fairly cheap, it will plug right into your car but you will have no tach then. Or you can take the clusters apart and swap the speedo part into yours.

RE: common speedo problem
If CEL is on, check the CEL FIRST!!
If the CEL pertains to the speedo sensor, ding ding ding, it's probably just the sensor located ontop of the transmission.
If CEL is NOT on....
Problem: The speedo doesn't work but the odometer works.
Solution: Replace the cluster or just replace the speedo gauge
Problem: The speedo doesn't work AND the odometer doesn't work.
Solution 1*: Bad Sensor - Replace the speedo sensor in the transmission.
*CEL should be on
Solution 2: Bad Gauge - Replace cluster or just replace the speedo gauge
IF Neither solution above fixed it.
Solution 3: Check all wiring from the sensor to the gauge. Because the signal is disrupted somewhere.

RE: common speedo problem
OH, if you can't find a cluster or sensor locally, check eBay.
For the cluster ANY 92-95 Cluster will work. Simply remove yours and plug the "new" one in. If you want the exact style cluster that you already have (tachometer, speedo, and temp/fuel) look for EX or Si clusters from 92-95. Alternatively, if would like to save some money, you canbuy any cluster, HX, DX, VX, CX... and remove the speedo gauge from it and swap it into your cluster. Since the only gauge that is bad is the speedo gauge, that's really the only one you have to replace.

RE: common speedo problem
Ok I have a 94 Civic DX and the speedometer crapped out on me about a month back, I havent been able to drive my car because I cant get pulled over for any reasondue to my job. I have already replaced the speed sensor, the cluster, and all the fuses are fine, any other suggestions?

RE: common speedo problem
IF you replaced everything PROPERLY with WORKING parts, then the only thing left is a little gear in the transmission that turns the speedo sensor. It is VERY UNCOMMON for that to be the case.
btw... ...please start a new thread next time.
