engine revs up and down? help please

Default engine revs up and down? help please

just got done putting head on after valve job, engine just revs up to about 2,000 and back to about 600 rpms. no engine light neighbor checked with scanner nothing any ideas. looks like all is connected but will go check again.

Sounds like a vacuum line is disconnected. Check all the vacuum lines for cracks and if they are attached properly.

Vacuum leak for sure. You can also try cleaning out the IACV, too.

must have been air in idle controle. went for ride seemed to clear out then was able to adjust timming.

On an OBDII, after disconnecting the battery you need to run for a while to recalibrate the computer. Then it will settle down.
