Default Exhaust Header Studs

I've read that people often break their exhaust header studs (the two lower corner studs that screw into the head). Was just wondering how people typically break these. I was able to get my header off with no problem and the studs are in the head pretty tight. Just wondering if I should be proactive or something and really try to replace these studs before bolting up the new header. I think I read in one or two instances that people broke the studs while installing the new nuts for the new header. Any advice is appreciated.

People break bolts and studs usually by applying far too much tq on them. I use an impact gun about 95% of the time to remove nuts and bolts. Far less likely that something will break.

If you didn't break it when removing your old header, it should be fine. Torque the nuts to spec when installing.

I broke a couple before but only because of overtightening. For trying to break them loose they would have to be really really seized to break.
