Front wheel noise

Front wheel noise
I have a 2002 Civic EX that is making a loud noise on the front driver side as we speed up. Put it up on jack stands to see if it was a wind noise but its still there. Any ideas on what the problem might be? Wheel bearing or something like that?????

RE: Front wheel noise
Whinning or humming noises which vary with road speed or while turning left or right is caused by a bad wheel bearing. Cracking or clicking noise especially while turning and accelerating or reversing and accelerating is the outboard CV Joint. Cracking or clicking while driving straight or even accelerating or suspension action would be inner CV Joint, but if it makes a noise around turns its not the inner CV Joint. Taken directly from my Auto Service Tech book DRIVELINES that we just finished. Good Luck

RE: Front wheel noise
Then I would think it's your wheel bearing most probably. Try to wiggle the wheel holding its lower and upper parts while on jack stand. If you feel/see the play other than just the tire, than it's time to replace wheel bearing.
