Default Gauge swap: fuel and temp gauge stopped working

I swapped a gauge cluster with a tach from a 92 ex into my 92 cx and the tach and spedo are working fine, but the fuel and temp gauge show a full tank of gas and that im severely overheated

Any ideas on how to fix this?????

Did the two gauges in the original cluster act the same way?

No. I had a half tank according to the original gauge and the temp gauge worked fine.

If you unplug the 1-wire temperature sending unit under the distributor, does the cluster temp gauge needle drop to the cold mark? If so, there's likely a short in the temp and fuel gauge circuits caused during your installation of the new cluster. Check for damaged pins in the rear cluster connectors.

Correction: The temp gauge needle will only drop if the short is occurring between the sending unit and its connector. If the needle stays up after disconnecting the sending unit, then inspect the rear cluster connectors for damage.

well i checked out the plugs in the rear of the cluster and theres no bare wiring, missing pins, or anything obviously wrong. Im not sure which plug is the temp sending unit you're talking about though. Im not so worried about the temp gauge as i am the fuel.

When you unplugged the rear cluster connectors, did the two gauge needles drop to Empty and Cold?

Both are important gauges that must be working. You must know whether the engine is overheating, otherwise your engine could be toast.
