If I shouldnt be wasting money on synthetic oil, then what oil should I use as I drive miles and miles daily. I would say roughly 5000 kms each month, or two. I put in Prezzolic (whatever its called). The last oil change was taken at Oil Change shop and I dislike what they did so Ill go back to my own shop.

Also especially when it's burning oil, you need to check often and add more yourself between changes. Letting it run out of oil will of course immediately ruin your engine.

while it won't start do some usual "cranks but won't start" checks:

Turn key on but don't crank, observe that the CEL comes on then goes out, also during that time the fuel pump runs to prime the lines. The oil and battery lights should come on and stay on.
Pull brake handle up and crank, observe that the BRAKE light stays on throughougt (this shows the ignition switch is generally OK.
Check ECU for codes (jumper wire works up to 1998 I think, later requires a scan tool)
Take one spark wire out and put into a spare plug. Holding the rubber part of the wire, press the shell of the plug so it grounds on the engine. Have someone turn key to crank. The plug should fire a bright white spark.

If the spark test doesn't pass but the others do you probably have a flakey ICM.
