first time it burned

second time it burned

Now the car has died the third time now but don't have the pics but its the same valve. Also had new injector installed this time.

Every time I get the head redone it still burns about 1 qaurt of oil every 300 miles. The car used to get about 36 till the first exhaust fail but now it only gets about 30. There are no mods done its all factory.

So any ideas? I am thinking on just ordering a rebuilt head form like oreallys or auto zone.

After replacing the valve, was anything done to make the valve seat seal properly? Did you check valve guides and seals?

Burning that much oil suggests the rings are bad. The rings will make oil smoke that gets worse and keeps coming when you floor it.

Adjusting the valves too tight can also cause them to burn. Like Axis said, the valve needs to seat properly to dissipate its heat to the head.

they checked the seating both times well they say they did. They also said they replaced the guides and seals. But I keep loosing that one valve. I talked to the my mechanic he said the valve clearance was good on this one. The valve last about 3000 miles. he also put die on the piston and it didn't leak down.

But I have heard it might have bad rings. The car doesn't smoke that I know off. But it drinks more oil if I have the v tec kicked in.

I gladly appreciate yalls input.

But just weard that its always the same valve every time.

Wheres a good place to get a re manufactured head? I am looking at oreallys right now 12000 miles or a year. for 576. I just don't want to put the head back on because if I do this will be the 4 th time.

Find another shop and mechanic for all other car jobs in the future.

I'd agree. For $500 you can get a used engine and replace the whole thing, that is where you should be going.
