Default Hole under my hood

So I was under my hood just looking around, trying to learn a bit about what I'm driving, and I noticed there was a perfectly circular hole right behind the front passenger headlight.

I'm not sure if there's something that's supposed to be there (the only thing on my car that doesn't work is the A/C, and the shop never said anything was missing), or if someone might have cut that hole there to get cooler air to the air intake.

Wow, huge picture.

Anyway, that hole is where part of the factory air intake box went. It's supposed to be there.

*edit: d**m you John!

Yeah, sorry about the gigantic picture. Pretty sure I've done that a few times now. However, thanks for clearing that up for me. Just wanted to make sure nothing important had been knocked out of my car.

Those come in handy for turbo projects or cold air intakes.

Just curious, what's with the EG thing? I had always just seen *X's (DX, LX, EX, HX, and CX).

EG is a chassis type. DX,LX,CX, etc are trim levels. 5th gens are EG chassis, 6th gens are EK chassis, 4th gens are EF chassis, S2000s are AP, etc. But there are trim levels for all chassis types.

No ****? Well that clears it up for me. I kept thinking those were like Japanese or European versions of the EX.
