you can go aftermarket. this is what ive been using on my 99civic.

Well, not sure if this is exactly whatI wanted. The link you posted seems to be pointing to some night ligth system. Is there anything which would be applicable for Canadian DRL requirements?

Yeah theres this little **** on the left side of the steering wheel. Turn it a couple clicks, and voila! Daytime running headlights.

well the link i posted does have day time driving light feature built in....... when ever the cars ignition the lights will be ON. but its also BYPASSABLE.... by simply cuting one internal wire, which is how i have mine DISABLED. best of all with that system theirs NEVER any need to even touch the headlight controls anymore!

perfect for lazy people like me [8D]

I have an American car and live in Canada...the car had to get a DRL module installed when it was brought across the border, its a little box with loose wires running around everywhere under the hood...if I take out the car tomorrow I will let you know some info of the module such as any markings on it, etc...now its covered in snow...[:@]

Go to Canadian Tire and ask for the Hamsar DRL module. It will cost you like $20 or something, and its really simple to install. 1 wire for power, 1 wire for switching when the engine is running, ground, and another wire to the headlights. Comes with an inline fuse for the power wire as well. The instructions will tell you to wrap the switching wire around one of the spark plug wires, but that worries me, so I spliced into the green/yellow wire coming out of the distributor.

Should be able to do it with a simple relay under the dash to bypass the headlight switch whenever the ignition is on. But if the "Hamsar" module is only $20 and comes with instructions, that's kind of hard to beat.

Hey, wondering if someone could help and if this is the right thread if not direct me somewhere else. I am installing LED strips inside or around my headlights and I want them to come on with the DRL, but when I wired them in and hooked them up but they did not turn on, I thought they did not work , tested them they are fine, but when i just have the LED's hooked up no DRL the LED lights work, now I have only done this so far on my right side headlight, Do I have to hooked the another LED strip on the other side or what?

When DRL is on you get less than full voltage to the bulb, that may not be enough to light LEDs. Perhaps just forget the headlight / DRL circuit and wire them so they are on whenever the key is on?
