Default ICM/Distributor problem

Ok so i have a wiring issue with my civic, It ran fine, messed with a few wires (and by few I mean every single one in my wire tuck) so im basically bent over a table... if you catch my drift. So i got the fuel pump running, I smell gas when i crank with no plugs in. I cant actually tell if im getting fuel at the right time. secondly I have no spark. I have power going to the distributor via the black/yellow wire. and as i said before it ran before i did my tucking. so i messed up a wire somewhere. so questions are as follows

1. How do i check if my ecu is on if i have no cluster (replacing with gauges)

2. what wires need/ dont need voltage for my distributor to work. i've herd TDC sensor and like a CKP sensor? as you can tell i'm stupid when it comes to cars...
