Ignition Switch

Ignition Switch
My car was stolen last week and was recovered with minor damage. The key hole was broken to start the car and my question is if i just need the lock cylinder and new key to fix it or would i have the replace it with a whole new ignition switch? On either one, how hard would it be to replace it with a new one? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

RE: Ignition Switch
just buy the whole ignition w/ key. it's not hard to replace. you have to make like a flathead groove w/ a dremel to take the screws out. you can then loosen the bolts with a flathead. unplug the harness, plug the new ignition harness in, put the bolts back and you're done

RE: Ignition Switch
i am not too sure. but if you have to take the steering wheel off and you have a stock steering wheel then you do it like this.
1.Pop your hood and find the fusebox in your car. Open it and look on the cover to see which fuse is for your horn. take it out.
2.Pop the honda emblem out (the one on the horn), by prying it with a flat head.
3. Get a long socket with an extension that fits the bolt behind that and unscrew.
4. remove the steering wheel.
5. after you have done everything, and your wheel is ready to go back on... put the fuse back in.
i learnt the hard way, and snapped my horn off just to get to the bolt. but i was putting on a new wheel anyways.
