Jumping Speedo
Hello all!
Maybe you all can help. I have a 4dr 96 Civic LX auto. I've been having some issues over the last couple of days.
The speedometer needle is jumping all over the place. It's been hard to accelerate, rolls in safe mode for 10-15mph, then finally catches and rolls just fine. I've noticed lately that I no longer have a low gas light and my CEL is on. I was having some dimming of headlights, interior lights...flickering..
I assume that with my speedo needle all over the place and my interior and headlights flickering that it was the alternator, so I replaced that last night.
So now I have no dimming/flickering of lights but I still have the CEL and dancing speedo gauge.
I am hesitant to take it in someplace...especially if it's something I can do MYDAMNSELF....I don't want to give them my hard earned $.
If you all have any suggestions let me know.
I am stumped.....ughhhhhh!?!?!?!?!?!?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.....Thanks in advances to those that read and those that replied.

Check fuse 15 and search for the "fuse 15 problem". You have all the symptoms: 1996 model, varying voltage from the alternator, speedometer doesn't work, and CEL on. If you pull the codes it will likely be VSS, both O2 sensor heaters, and purge solenoid, all of these codes are not from failure of the sensors themselves-- but because they aren't getting power from the harness.
