Thanks... Should I also wait for 24 hours for it to fully cure before adding coolant and starting it up again ?

24 h is optimal, but overnight should be fine.

Default update

Got the switch installed and filled with water first to check for leaks. Let it idle for about 40 min in 90* weather. No over heating. Now my question is do I need to bleed the system of air after I empty the water and fill with 50/50 ? I scrolled through the service manual that I downloaded from your signature, and it says to bleed the system, but how, and where ? Any ideas?

Bleeding is described in the Cooling section of the Engine chapter.

Every time you drain and refill the system, you need to bleed it.

It's hard to get all the water out. When you have it filled with plain water, to get to a 50/50 mix drain as much as you can then add almost one gallon of concentrated antifreeze. Then fill to the top with plain water. Total capacity is 1.9 gallons for nearly all Civics so this will mix in the system and end up 50% antifreeze.

Maybe Im just not seeing it then, I do appologize. But all I see in that section is how and where the drain plugs are for the block and radiator, how to check the cap, and ect switch and then to refill. It does say to bleed the system but for some reason I cant find it in that chapter

You'll find it in the Refilling and Bleeding subsection.

Park the car on an inclined driveway with the front higher than the rear and turn the heater ****/lever to MAX heat.

Then follow steps 9-12 precisely:

I would recommend that you use teflon thread tape instead of silicone gasket maker stuff.
