overheating issue
We replaced the thermostat in my daughter's 97 Honda Civic. It drove fine for 2 days, then overheated again. She took it to a mechanic Who replaced the radiator and cap, hoses, and the thermostat and gasket. He told her the thermostat had to be replaced again because it overheated (got into the red). Okay, but noW it is overheating again 3 days later. Any thoughts? She drives 60 miles roundtrip everyday in traffic, and I DON'T Want her to breakdown.

Letting the temp gauge needle go to HOT is very bad as it can warp the engine and destroy the bearings. The engine may now be toast. Good luck.
In the meantime, rent a block tester from AutoZone to detect exhaust gases in the coolant. This is diagnostic for a blown head gasket.

Didn't hear a mention of a water pump in there. Has it been replaced? Its a little harder than some vehicles but you can do it yourself with a couple of tools.
Here is a video on how to do it.
But first just test the fan.
To work around the issue temporarily in the past I have disconnected the wires from the a/c and driven with the a/c on. This turns on the fan next to the radiator fan.
