Default PCV valve replacment question

I forgot to change the PCV two weeks ago when I completed an oil change.
Looking for it quickly today; it looks like I'd have no problem replacing it from under the car once the oil filter is off.

I honestly don't ever remember changing or allowing a service place to replace it when asked about it.

If I removed the oil filter without draining the oil, I'd only lose the oil that's within the filter-right?

I've soaked myself with oil before, removing the filter. Some might come out, probably not a lot.

I'm in the same boat as you. Recently changed my oil and subsequently bought a PCV. Since I have no reason to believe that my old PCV needs immediate attention I'm going to wait for the next oil change and maybe do it a little earlier than usual.
