Default Rear defrost not working

Hi all,

I have a 1998 Honda Civic and this winter I've noticed that the rear defrost isn't working — my whole back window and the side windows are always fogging up. My friend told me it may be a problem with a fuse, but I don't know which.

Has anyone had this trouble before? Do you know which fuse it might be?

Thanks!

it means that one of the strips are not connected at some point. what you have to do is turn it on and start checking each of the rows with a multimeter, and then buy a kit at a local parts store.

Agree, that whole system has to connect from + to - otherwise there is no heat. Somewhere either the connector harnesses that hook to each side, or an individual strip is probably broken. It's easy to do, I have seen people scrape decals and etc off windows and cut them all to hell.

I would do what EJ suggests, it won't be that hard of a fix!

could be.... definatly check for power.... and the ground as well...

my rear defrosters only has like 6lines that defrost.... i had the windows tint removed once and then removed and retinted again due to a bad tint job... tho i have no idea if they worked before completly so im realy not positive so i realy cannt go blame him and i dont want to cut into the tint trying to find the bad spots figure ill just deal with it myself.................. scrap the windows and crank up the AC to keep the inside from frosten up....
