Smile Replacing the accessory power socket

Hi all,

I have a 2004 honda civic lx (2dr) and the accessory power socket does not work. I have checked with someone and its not a fuse problem or a electricity problem, but the power socket part needs replacement. The local honda dealer mentions two different prices ;$10 plus tax if my car is japan made (or) $35 plus tax if its american made.
Now, I want to go for the cheaper one but my car is american made. Do you think it can still be installed in my car or is it better to go for the higher priced one? Suggestions highly appreciated. Tahnks

I think they use the basic screw-together socket, which is a generic part you can buy for less than $10 at any parts store. You may need to replace the terminals on the wires to match the third-party part.

Thank you so much. In that case, I can just get the honda part that is less than $10 but was told that its for the japan assembled '04 civic ?
