Brake pads have a metal wear indicator that produces that sound when the pads need replacement.

Rotors? Lets not overkill it here. You can get those checked at any place that turns rotors before buying new ones.

a lot of the times itcosts the same amount just to trun them, then you have the problem of them not doing it right because JoBlo is worried more about his date tonight than turning your rotors right. just pay the 5 dollars extra and get new ones

It is your brakes. But if you let leave them in there current condition they will need to be replaced along with new rotors because your's will be torn to crap.

Rotors are not expensive. $20 each max.

Just saying, you can have someone with a gauge check them to see if they even need to be turned. Worth the free checkup before paying $40 bucks for new or $20 for turning. W/e, just my opinion.

if you haven't done it already, i advise you do it ASAP. this happened to my bluebird and i still keep on driving it.
but just about 2 months ago, my break failed totally and i was going 100KPH without break... and it was no fun at all...
