Second O2 Sensor

Second O2 Sensor
I just aquired a 1997 Hond Civic and had a question about an O2 sensor that is not hooked up.
The exhaust was replaced by the PO, however it only has one port for an O2 sensor. The second one has just been cut off.
Is there a way to bypass this or trick the ECU to get the CEL to go away, or should I find a way to re-install the second sensor?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you have a cat converter or just a straight pipe? If it's a straight pipe, there's no point in having the second sensor since its only purpose is to check the performance of the converter.
Straight pipes are illegal in all 50 states and bad karma. But you could get away with it if there is no smog check.

I believe there is a cat, unless it is some type of resonator, I have yet to actually get under the car to check.
It has the large fart-can resonator for the tip/muffler that is soon to be replaced as well.
I live in IL, so no smog check, and fairly easy to get away with exhuast non-conformances.
