Default Standing Water on floor front passenger side

I have a 2002 Civic. For a few years now we've had a problem with standing water on front floor passenger side. The water does not appear to be coming from the door. Any ideas on what is causing this? Even better any suggestions on how to fix? For last two years, we've just been soaking up the water every few months. By the way, my standing water, I don't mean inches. Over a few month period the carpet is rather soaked but there is no measurable amount of water.

The heater core would be coolant and the A\C would be water.I have that problem only when it rains like a flood I think that is from my amp wire.

I had same problem and it turned out to be the aircon drain hose got loose and fell out. It's right by the firewall under the glovebox. its easy to kick it out if one has long feet and big toes.

I have the same problem with my 2007 Civic sedan (only two months old and bought in Canada). Just today I discovered that the rubber mat was developing what seems to be fungus due to humidity trapped between it and the fabric mat (a poor excuse of a mat provided by Honda). Couldn't believe my eyes. Once the mats were removed, I pressed my palm into the floor carpet, and surely enough my hand was wet. It sounds like I may have the same problem, i.e. disconnected drain line leaking into the car cabin. Thanks for your input guys.

I have the same problem. My 1996 Civic has water leaking under the front drivers and passenger side. A mechanic had my car for a week, ran water on it, drove it through the car wash twice, and disconnected the ac....It's still leaking cups of water! Is it the heater core? Many thanks for any input.

Driving in the rain can force water through holes (rusted out, grommets removed, etc) in the firewall and floor. It's not the same as going through a car wash.

If the liquid is coming from the heater core it will be coolant from the radiator, which can be identified by smell.

There can be quite a bit of water trapped in the A/C box and ductwork if the drain is clogged.
