Has anyone else had a problem with a rattle from the sunroof area on a '96-'00 Civic? I have a '00 Civic Si that is in excellent condition (never wrecked) and has only 30k miles (bought the car with 24k in December '04 from a friend). I hear an intermittent rattle from the right front corner area of the sunroof. This rattle exists only when it's cold (< 40 deg F) an occurs regardless of the sunroof or sunshade position. The rattle is only evident on rough roads, etc. but it is annoying nonetheless. I believe the rattle may be something related to the sunroof frame because sunroof rail adjustments have no effect on the rattle. Has anyone experienced this problem or know how to fix it? I've tried several different things, but to no avail. This is a great car and I want to get this minor issue resolved so I can fully enjoy it. Any help is appreciated.

 

i say take it out, weight reduction

take it to a honda dealer, see what they say.

 

I'm not real crazy about someone else working on my car. In addition to my '00 Si, I have a '93 Accord EX with 235k miles. I have done all services on this vehicle myself ever since a Honda dealer had to redo the 90k mile timing belt change because it leaked oil when they finished! I'm just curious if anyone else has had this problem or might know what it might be. I'm hoping someone else might have encountered this and know how to fix it without removing the headliner and the sunroof frame. Any help is appreciated.
