timing belt at 72k

timing belt
The civic manual suggests timing belt replace at 110k or 84 months. I still have long way to reach 110k, but pasted 84 months many years. Still I get ~ 32 mpg combined. Don't see any obvious problems. Do you think I need to replace the timing belt (and water pump)?

The thing about timing belts is they dont give warnings when they break. So thats why you go off mileage. But if your able to at least check your belt you can get some idea of the condition of it. If your belt looks normal, no damage id say change it at 100,000. You could probably go 110K but id say it depends on the condition of your belt. To check your belt just pull off your valve cover and then the top cover of your timing cover. As for the water pump. If your leaking coolant then yes. But your water pump could still be leaking, just not enough to puddle or see drips.
