Weird A/C problems 2002 civic please help
So my ac compressor has been acting up and kicks on only after I've been driving for about. 20 min. I just charged the system about 2 months ago and the pressure is fine. Last night I checked the level in my ac with a freon charging system I got from Walmart and it was high so I relieved some of the pressure, then added more freon to a safe level. Now it works but it takes about 15-20 min for the ac compressor to turn on. What's the deal? No cold air for the first 15 min. Please help

Do the condenser fans start right away but the compressor does not? If so it could be the clutch gap, thermal protector, or the compressor relay. The clutch gap can be adjusted with the system charged. The test for the relay is to see if voltage is reaching the compressor wire when the compressor should be on.
If the compressor pulls in and spins but you don't get cold air you need to look at both pressures with a real gauge manifold not the walmart kit.

So how would I check and adjust this?
