sohc zc mini me help
ok..im new to the sohc zc engine...i have sohc zc engine in my 1990 civic dx hatch..it has a 4 speed tranny..its all stock except the megen coilovers...ANYWAYS...i want to put a 5 speed tranny in it..i also was wondering if it was worth doing the mini me swap....the question(s) is, am i going to need change the ecu if im putting an ex tranny in. i was thinking of converting to mpfi and convert to obd I to run a p28 ecu for the mini me....would that work? and would i feel any difference? sorry im so confused i dont even know how to ask the damn question...any info would be greatly appreciated!!

RE: sohc zc mini me help
alright...
then you don't have a dx..you have a std.
you can get a DX or SI transmission from a 89-91 and it will bolt up fine. if its from an 88 you will have to get a new clutch set up.
You don't have to replace any other parts. the ecu will be fine, the shift linkage, the axels. everything will work fine.
as for your engine....is it dual port fuel injection or Multi Port Fuel injection?
do you have vtec?

RE: sohc zc mini me help
alright...well i think what the previous owner did was did a mini me swap on a zc bottom end. the zc is pretty much a D16A6 which is the civic si engine. but i have no idea on why the owner would put a dx or std engine on the top of that...kind ruins the point of it.
i dont know to much about mini me swaps, but you will need a new ecu. if you wanted to convert to obd1 then you will need a new ecu.
good luck with that mess.
