Default Zeroing a Speedometer

ok, on my 94 del sol a previous owner had put on plasma gauge lights (the ones that go over the regular numbers) and they didnt work, got tired of screwing with it and removed them, unfortunatly i had to remove the needles to remove the plasma things, i think i got the needles eventually in the right place, but the speedometer is 5 or 10 miles off, is there a way i can zero it in using a multimeter or something, i dont want to take it into a speedometer shop. any help helps. thanks in advance
