I put a strait pipe on the exhaust system from the CAT back. I put a K&N cold air intake on it. Trying to get a little more low end torque. To do this I advanced the ignition timing to the distributors mechanical end stop. The timing light showed that the timing mark did not change. Does anybody know how this could happen. I will say that I could not find the "Blue Test Connector" that you are supposed to short out with a papper clip but I thought the timing would change with out doing that.

All that's going to do is make your engine ping/predetonate (I don't remember the right word). Nothing happened because you didn't jump the test connector. Even if you were to jump the connector, you're not suppose to advance it that much.

Blue Test Connector
I appriciate your reply. Do you know where the Blue Test Connector is located? I'm going to try advancing to 18 degrees. At 9000 ft I am told that advancing the timing helps? I'm willing to try anything to get a little more low end torque.

And sorry, I don't know anything about altitude and how it relates to engines. I'm at like 5 ft above sea level. lol
