Default 2000 HONDA CIVIC SI

I purchased my civic a few years ago and it was already lowered. The ride is rough. Whenever I hit potholes It feels like an earthquake. I live in an area with LOTS of potholes. Can I do anyhting to improve the vehicle? Should I buy new shocks?

I would seroiusly consider redoing the suspension. Check out some of our sponsors, a couple of them offer some good suspensions deals.

Sounds to me like you either have cut springs (which I HOPE is not the case) or an el-cheapo coilover system. Got any pics inside the wheel wells?

Pics could be helpful and if the potholes are too bad try driving around them. That would probably help your whole driving experience.

I want to keep it lowered. I'll get some pics up as soon as possible.

Of course if I could drive around the pot holes I defenitly will.

Does any of you have a lowered car? Do you see a difference in the way it rides? How much will it cost to replace the shocks and springs? Sounds expensive.

I had a 2000 Si, on coilovers, and the ride was pretty bad. I would suggest either new shocks, or like they said, new suspension.

drop zone lowering springs for my car was only 75 dollars and they gave it a 3in drop and my car rides good on the original struts.
