After reading some posts I'm not sure this is the correct place for me but I may as well try. I have a 1977 Civic 1500 CVCC with a 5 speed. I bought it in '79 with 40,000 miles on it and now have close to 500,000 miles on it. Seems you folks are mostly into the newer cars and customizing and such. I'm beyond that but hope my car will last another 20 years or so.

Anyway, it's really hard to find parts for it now because it's old (like me) and not a classic. Right now I'm looking for body trim. I need new drip molding (goes over the doors to catch the rain) and the CVCC emblem that's on the back of the hatch. So far I haven't been able to find a parts car.

If anyone knows where I might find body or mechanical parts for a '77 Civic please let me know. Honda dealer have very little to offer.

You may want to try www.car-part.com. They have over 80 million parts for vehicles around the country. Im pretty sure they will have parts for your car. It is the best resource I have found yet.

Btw, Welcome!

Thanks to those who replied so far. And thanks for the welcome, Remmy. I haven't found the parts I need yet but I keep finding more resources from your suggestions, guys. I'm going to call a few places and see where that gets me. I'll keep checking back.

Oh, and My04Civic, yes, that makes my Civic 7 years older than you and 29 years older than your Civic. I hope yours lasts as long, take good care of it!

and wellcome.

yikes 500,000 miles? And i thought 200,000 was impressive. Good job on keeping it running all this time, you must take real good care of it.

Sorry, no pics. I don't have the knowledge or the equipment to post them. If I can get someone else to do it for me on their computer, I'll give it a try.

I hope I last another 20 years as well. I plan on keeping it until I drop dead and then my daughter gets it.

I have taken good care of it. Change the oil regularly. You all know how important that is. If anything goes wrong I try to take care of it right away and do all the periodic maintainance.

It's just been a really good little commute car and gets about 30+ MPG. I wish it still got 40 MPG like it did when I first got it.

It's my only dependable set of wheels though, now that I'm retired, I don't have to commute any more. When it's in the shop (like now, while it's being painted) I have to drive my '51 Chevy truck. I love the truck but it gets really bad mileage. Can't afford to drive it much.
