hello fellas, I am about to buy a 1996 civic EX with 120,000 miles on it. It looks ok, has a few dents but the price makes up for it. My only worry is that the AC makes a loud noise when set on high. Any of you guys ever experience that? if so, what could it be? i know absolutely nothing about cars, especially imports. Fill me on what your knowledge.

welcome to hcf, sorry i don't have much experience with ac systems. is the sound inside or outside the car

 

i believe its on the inside. Im scared that it might be about to go out and the car would be worth the money if I had to get a brand new ac system. Its a very loud noise when i set it on 3 or 4 and then it goes away after about 15 minutes of use. Any ideas?

What kind of loud noise? Sounds like it could be the blower. Express your concern over it with the dealer. Maybe they'll fix it for you. Couldn't hurt.

 

Yea i'd talk it over with the dealer, if he wants to make the sell bad enough he'd probably fix it/have it looked at for you.

 

When u do a swap u'll have to rip it out anyway. lol
No worries, it's probably just a belt or somethin small...
