Default Coming to Honda from GM

Hey guys,
Just got my first 01 manual civic ex after wasting too much of my money trying to get my 95 olds cutlass to even survive. Seems like you guys have a fairly imformative community over here. I hope I can rely on you guys to keep me adding to my niew ride. Speaking of which, I've got two questions, different topics. First, for my civic, I've noticed that when I'm going about 65 mph in 5th gear, my rpms are around 3500. Is this normal? My gf's got an 04 civic automatic and her tach reads about 2500 at 65 mph. This kinda has me worried a bit. If this isn't a normal thing, is there anything I can do to correct it? Secondly, I'm really digging the instrument panel for the 03 and newer civics. Any chance of getting an upgrade to the new style panels from the 01 model? ANY help on these issues would be most appreciated. Thanks.

i think the rpm thing is ok, 5-speeds get better mileage than autos, so the lower cruising rpm is probably to compensate. 3500 sounds allright to me. mine is about that, i think a little higher actually. as for the gauges, you have access to one in your GFs car, try i tout, then let us know.

Thanks for the help guys. Although I don't know if she'd let me take out her instrument panel for a couple of days. I'll have to see how the compatibility works.
