Default ENGINE WARNING LIGHT SINCE COLD AIR INSTALLED

I have a 2006 civic lx coupe with flowmaster exhaust and AEM cold air intake.

Since installing the cold air intake, theengine warning light comes on periodically.

I had the dealership check the cause of the warning light, they say the engine is running to lean!
Do you think it is true?
Is this causing serious damage?
Is there a way to fix the problem and keep the cold air?

Help!

Make sure everything is hooked up right for one thing. That's the first thing you should do. After everything checks out ok, disconnect the negative of the battery and leave it for a few minutes. Reconnect it and see how it works after that.

first and for most check you gas cap..... yeah sounds stupid but it will throw it.... if you really want to know what's throwing the code go down to your local checker or kragen auto parts and have them pull it for you (if they are cool, they'll do it) you should find an end there

hmmm well lets think what can be caused here
MAFS mass airflow sensor possible because more air is coming in
there is a vacuum hose on intakes so it could be vacuum leak.
it would be smart to go to your major parts retailer, pep boys, auto zone, murrays, those are ones in michigan, and they will pull the code and tell you what it is.

its not possable that with the new parts theres so much airflow that the injectors cant keep up is it? i wouldnt think that this could cause it... i do like the idea of pulling the neg cable, and allowing the computer to reset.. these newer cars use learning computers.. where they remember the settings and readings from the last few run sessions.. it could be that the change is too great for the computer to adjust to and by resetting it, this will make it learn the new parameters...

just a thought...
