Default Excellent performing car

Thanks to everyone for posting the pros and the cons of the new civic. I just purchased the Lx sedan on Sept 29. It works like a charm. My last car a VW Jetta TDI I thought outhandled most cars on the road but the Civic definitely outhandles the Jetta. I have approx 5,000 kms and get approx 44 mpg a little less if I drive fast. I have had it going 101 mph and it still had more left. This is my second Honda this year, Last spring I purchased an 05 goldwing and it is an excellent bit of technology as well.

Being in the north I was concerned with one post stating that it handled very poorly in the snow. Since we are getting into the snowy season I have been thinking of winter tires but have not made the purchase yet. It could be the electronic steering system that this person is not used to. After the break in period I will be switching to a 0W30 synthetic oil and synthetic long life filter ...good for 1 year or 25,000 miles and will be switching to the synchro syn tranny fluid as well. This should boost the fuel mileage close to 48 mpg. Email me for details on these fluids.

I had almost purchase the civic hybrid but after reading the posts here I am glad I did not. I was nervouse about the battery packs.

Happy motoring everyone

Stephen
